Sponsoring Polo Event in Timau Kenya

Events

Syngenta East Africa sponsored a six-day Polo event at the North Polo Club in Timau, Kenya, between 4th-13th June 2021. The sponsorship is part of our continued effort to increase sustainability awareness in the country across different scales of farmers. The event allowed us to show our continued commitment to our Direct Farm Unit partnership with Agventure, the event's organizers.

Agventure is a limited company, with most of its shareholders being large-scale farmers. The company, located in Timau, Kenya, works with non-irrigated farms focusing on enabling Sustainable Conservation Agriculture practices. Agventure works to empower farmers by educating them on fundamentally growing better crops in more sustainable ways, which is crucial for their future.

As Syngenta, we work towards ensuring that regardless of farm size, farmers grow healthier, more productive plants. We are helping them to embed sustainable agricultural practices on their farms building biodiversity to help farmers increase productivity. The partnership provides both Syngenta and Agventure an opportunity to promote sustainable farming practices in the country.

In sponsoring the event, we interacted closely with large-scale growers who form part of the cereals market segment of Syngenta products. The event created a space to showcase Syngenta's cereals crop protection program for higher yields. With cereals being a major food group in the country, our brand presence and sharing of technical skills provided an avenue for future business opportunities with large-scale growers.

The event ensured national brand visibility with the Syngenta brand associated team Fusilade Forte® winning the event, a thrilling victory for the players and our Syngenta team. The Polo event also gained national coverage with the Syngenta brand associated with the event and the champions. We showcased our continued leadership in crop protection and commitment to farmers in Kenya.
